Quiet Weeks are Good Too

2 February 2025

Choir has been getting busier and busier. That will consume my attention for the coming week. I’m trying to practice at home when I can with recordings from the Internet. We have Bruckner’s Mass in E minor to perform this coming week. I feel very unprepared. But I’ll keep working on it.

We had an unplanned field trip from Spanish class this week when there was a water leak on the floor above us. All of a sudden water started dripping through the ceiling in the middle of class. So we all went to a coffee shop. It wasn’t really much of a class. But it was a fun break from the routine.

The other fun thing I did this week is go to the opera with my friend Rafael on Friday. The Dialogue of the Carmelites is a beautiful, tragic and conflicting story of nuns martyred during the French Revolution.

It’s not my favorite opera but the staging was both innovative and quite simple.

This weekend has been quiet. Vicente and I hung out yesterday and today, walking the dog, watching movies, and we met a friend of his near the beach today. Cooper, the 7-month old Border Collie is a lot of fun and quite a handful!

Nothing new on the Visa Front. Everything is submitted. I’m waiting to hear from the attorney who will notify me when she hears back from the authorities.

Wish me luck as we get ready for the concerts this coming weekend.

I need to give an update. Fortunately, I misspoke and the concerts are this Thursday and Saturday.
