Two weeks and counting

23 November 2025

No news on the visa. I continue to look everyday, several times a day for an appointment in Los Angeles. As a Colorado resident, it’s where I have to apply for a Retiree visa. I leave for the US in two and a half weeks. I’m trusting that everything will be okay.

Not much other news.

This week, school was good. On Friday, we went to the Valencia museum of Prehistory. It was fun to see things all the way from the Paleolithic Era, through the Romans, Moors, Christians and current times.

This weekend was the big kickoff of the Christmas season in Valencia. They have completely embraced American commercialism for the holidays. The City Hall Plaza hosted a big tree lighting on Friday, complete with fireworks. And every Saturday night through December, there will be fireworks. I went last night and the crowds were crazy huge. The stores were packed! At one, there was a long line down the block waiting to get in.

But it is beautiful.

This afternoon (Sunday) I met Cooper and Vicente for a horchata and farton in the park. It was a beautiful end of the weekend.

Here’s wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving. Whatever uncertainties we all may face, we have much to celebrate. You are among the blessings for which I am grateful this holiday season.
