Cullera comes to Valencia

I had an especially fun time today at the Maskleta. Rafa invited me to join him with his Falla from Cullera.

Cullera is a small town not far from Valencia. Their Falla group met today at the Maskleta, complete with the mayor, the Fallera Mayor, and their own marching band.

I think today was especially meaningful for me because when I arrived I was warned that Spanish people don’t welcome non Spanish people into their circles very easily. And I’ve found that to be largely true. But Rafa has been the exception to that has invited me to be a part of Fallas and his world in ways that I otherwise would not get to experience.

This celebration looks interesting… and also FUN!! I am finding myself looking up all of these celebrations on the internet just get a feel of what you are experiencing.

Hugs!! So happy to hear your good news the other day!
